§ 304 Water Use Per Acre Limit

Key Takeaways

  • •You can only use a tiny bit of water (1/10 of a miner’s inch) for each acre of land you own.
  • •This tiny bit of water is measured as a constant, never-ending flow.
  • •You can save up this tiny bit of water and use it all at once during the year, instead of spreading it out.

Example

You own a small farm that is 5 acres big. You need water to grow your crops.

You are only allowed to use a very small amount of water for each acre. For your 5-acre farm, you can use 5 times that tiny bit of water. You can choose to use all of this water during the dry summer months when your crops need it the most, instead of using it little by little all year.
