§ 33439 Land Use Restrictions

Key Takeaways

  • •The government keeps some rules on land they sell or rent to people.
  • •These rules are part of a bigger plan for the area.
  • •The rules are there to help the public, not just the buyer.

Example

The city sells an old school building to a company that wants to turn it into apartments.

The city can say the company must keep some of the land as a park for kids to play in, even after selling it. This is to make sure the neighborhood stays nice for everyone.
