§ 33336 Redevelopment Plan Safeguards

Key Takeaways

  • •The plan must make sure the redevelopment work actually happens as promised.
  • •The plan can set rules for land that's sold or rented, even after it's no longer owned by the city.
  • •These rules help make sure the redevelopment does what it's supposed to do.

Example

A city wants to fix up a run-down neighborhood with new houses and parks.

The city's plan must include rules to make sure the new houses are built nicely and the parks stay clean. Even after selling the land to builders, the city can say things like 'No ugly fences' or 'Keep the park open to everyone' to keep the neighborhood nice.
