§ 33432 Property Lease Or Sale

Key Takeaways

  • •The government must lease or sell any land it buys for a project, unless it gives the land to the community or another public group.
  • •The land must be used in a way that matches the project's plan.
  • •There are some exceptions to this rule, listed in another part of the law.

Example

The city buys an old empty lot to build new houses and shops.

The city can't just keep the lot empty. It has to sell or rent it to someone who will build the houses and shops like they planned. If they don't, they're breaking the rules.
