Key Takeaways

  • •Adoptive parents may get another amended birth record for the child.
  • •They must submit an application with a copy of the adoption court order (Section 8615).
  • •They must also pay the required fee.
  • •This rule works even if other laws might say otherwise.

Example

A family adopted a child and got a new birth certificate. Later they need another copy for the child's school enrollment.
