§ 8506 Stop Payment Notice Requirements

• •The stop payment notice must follow the rules listed in Chapter 2 of Title 1.

You need to tell the builder (owner) or their architect that you are stopping payment. If the bank is holding the money for the project, you must tell the bank manager or the person in charge of the construction funds. You also need to make sure your notice follows the rules in Chapter 2 of Title 1.
