§ 8530 Debris Commission Plan Control

• •The board is in charge of most plans for the California Debris Commission, except for work on the Sacramento River.
• •Work on the Sacramento River and building weirs is shared between the U.S. government and the State of California.
• •The board does not control digging, widening, or fixing the Sacramento River.

If the state wants to build a new dam on a small river, the board can approve the plan.

But if they want to dig or change the Sacramento River, they have to work with the U.S. government because that river is shared.
