§ 8525 Flood Control And Land Reclamation

Key Takeaways

  • •This law approves a plan to control floods in the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers and nearby areas.
  • •The plan helps improve boat travel and protect land from river floods.
  • •The plan was first made in 1911 and updated in 1925 and later.

Example

A farmer owns land near the Sacramento River. Every year, heavy rains cause the river to flood, damaging crops and soil.

This law supports a plan to build things like dams or levees to stop the river from flooding the farmer's land. It also helps make sure boats can still travel safely on the river.
