§ 6391 Inspection Cost Deposit Requirement

Key Takeaways

  • •If someone asks for an inspection and pays the estimated cost, the department must do the inspection.
  • •Even if the department thinks their records are enough, they still have to inspect if the person pays.
  • •The person asking must pay upfront for the inspection cost.

Example

A neighbor thinks a nearby building is unsafe and wants the city to check it out.

If the neighbor pays the money the city asks for to cover the inspection cost, the city must inspect the building, even if they think their records show it's safe.
