AI SummaryVerified

§ 17377 Annexation Protest Waiver

Key Takeaways

  • •If you own land in an area that might get added to a district, you can say no by writing a protest.
  • •If you don’t write a protest, it means you’re okay with your land being added to the district.
  • •The rules for adding the land are whatever is written in the official request.

Example

A small town wants to add more land to its school district to build a new school. You own a farm on that land.

If you don’t write a letter saying you don’t want your farm to be part of the school district, the town will think you’re okay with it. They’ll add your land to the district and follow the rules in their request.
