§ 103180 General Manager Duties

This law tells what the general manager of a transit district can do and must do.

Key Takeaways

  • •The manager runs the day‑to‑day operations and answers to the board.
  • •They can hire, fire, or suspend district employees (but not board members).
  • •They must create the yearly budget, plan new transit projects, and give the board a financial report after each fiscal year.

Example

A city hires a general manager to run its bus and train system.

The manager makes the budget, hires staff, plans new train lines, and reports to the board each year, just like the law says.
