§ 101103 Board Appointment Process

• •The board has five members total.
• •Two members are appointed by the board of supervisors.
• •Two members are appointed by the City Council of Bakersfield.
• •The remaining member is chosen by a majority vote of the other four members.

A city wants to set up a new park board. The county supervisors pick two people, the city council picks two more, and those four then vote to add the fifth person.

The board ends up with five members: two chosen by the supervisors, two chosen by the city council, and one chosen by the other four members.
