§ 116795 Water Softener Certification

Key Takeaways

  • •If you install a water softener or conditioner, you need a special paper signed by a licensed plumber or water expert.
  • •The paper must include your name, the type of water softener, how much salt it uses, and info about any water-saving devices.
  • •The plumber or water expert must also write their name, address, and license number on the paper.
  • •You have to give this paper to the local office that handles plumbing permits.

Example

You buy a new water softener for your house to make the water less hard.

You can't just install it yourself. You need to hire a plumber with a special license. After they install it, they fill out a paper with details about the softener, like how much salt it uses, and their own info. You then give this paper to your city or county plumbing office.
