§ 111910 Injunctions For Food Safety Violations

Key Takeaways

  • •Anyone can go to court to stop someone from breaking the rules in Article 7 (like health and safety rules).
  • •You don’t have to prove you’ll lose money or get hurt to ask the court for help.
  • •If you win, the court can make the other person pay your lawyer fees.
  • •This doesn’t stop the government from also taking action if someone breaks the rules.

Example

A restaurant keeps serving spoiled food, making customers sick.

A customer can go to court to ask a judge to make the restaurant stop serving bad food. The customer doesn’t have to prove they lost money or got super sick—they can just ask the judge to stop it. If the judge agrees, the restaurant has to follow the rules or face penalties.
