§ 100875 Laboratory Compliance Orders

This law lets the state board tell a lab to fix problems right away or on a set timeline, and the lab can ask the board to review that order.

Key Takeaways

  • •Board officials can order a lab to comply right away or set a deadline.
  • •The order must be followed as soon as it’s given.
  • •The lab can ask the board to reconsider the order under a different section.

Example

A medical testing lab is found to be using expired chemicals, which breaks the board’s safety rules.

The board can send an order saying the lab must replace the chemicals immediately or by a certain date. If the lab thinks the order is unfair, it can ask the board to look at the decision again.
