§ 100827 Laboratory Water Test Reporting

This law says that a state‑approved lab must quickly give the full test results to the person who sent the sample, and it must also send every drinking‑water test result to the state board in the way and on the schedule the board decides.

Key Takeaways

  • •Accredited labs must report all test results promptly to the sample submitter.
  • •The state board can set rules about how and when labs must report.
  • •For drinking‑water tests, labs must also send the results to the state board in the board‑specified format and schedule.

Example

A homeowner sends a water sample from his kitchen faucet to an accredited lab to see if there are any harmful chemicals.

The lab must give the homeowner the complete list of any contaminants it finds, and it must also forward those same drinking‑water results to the state board in the format and timing the board requires.
