§ 8811 Commission Membership Appointments

Key Takeaways

  • •The group has 11 people in it.
  • •Some are picked by the Governor, some by the Speaker of the Assembly, some by the Senate, and two are already part of the government.
  • •No more than 6 people in the group can be from the same political party.
  • •If someone leaves, they have to be replaced within 30 days.

Example

Imagine a school club with 11 members.

The principal (like the Governor) picks 5 kids, the teacher (like the Speaker) picks 2, and the student council (like the Senate) picks 2. The school nurse and janitor (like the Superintendent and Director) are also in the club. Not more than 6 kids can be from the same grade (like a political party). If a kid leaves, they have to find a new one in 30 days.
