§ 67525 Bay Area Transit Authority Board

Key Takeaways

  • •A special board runs this authority, with members picked by different groups like transit agencies, the Mayor of San Francisco, and the Governor.
  • •Most members must be important people from the groups that pick them.
  • •Members can send someone else to meetings if they write it down.
  • •Members can be removed anytime by the group that picked them.
  • •At least 3 out of 8 members must live in San Francisco.

Example

Imagine a big group that decides how buses and trains work in the Bay Area.

This law says who gets to be in that group. For example, the Mayor of San Francisco picks one person, and the Governor picks another. They all have to be important people from their groups, and at least 3 must live in San Francisco. If someone can't go to a meeting, they can send a friend with a note.
