§ 203 Game Bird And Mammal Regulations

This law gives the wildlife commission power to set rules for hunting and trapping resident game birds, game mammals, and fur‑bearing mammals, including seasons, bag limits, areas, methods, and sex‑based restrictions.

Key Takeaways

  • •The commission can set open and closed seasons for animals.
  • •It can change bag limits and possession limits.
  • •It can define where hunting is allowed.
  • •It can prescribe the methods and means of taking.
  • •It can impose restrictions based on sex, maturity, or other physical traits.

Example

A hunter wants to know how many deer he can legally shoot in a season.

The commission can decide the bag limit, so they might say a hunter can only take two deer per season.
