§ 7578 Nuisance Lot Disposal Methods

Key Takeaways

  • •If a place is causing big problems (like a nuisance), a court can decide what to do with it.
  • •The court can order the place to be destroyed if it's really bad.
  • •The court can also make changes to the place so it stops causing trouble.
  • •Sometimes, the place can be released but with rules to make sure it doesn't cause problems again.

Example

Imagine your neighbor has a bunch of old cars in their yard that are rusty and leaking oil. This is making the area look bad and could be harmful.

A court could order your neighbor to clean up the yard by removing the old cars. If the cars are really bad, the court might say they need to be destroyed. Or, the court might let your neighbor keep the cars but only if they fix them up and stop the oil leaks.
