§ 29582 Comb Honey Quality Standards

Key Takeaways

  • •Honey sold in combs must follow color and quality rules set by the U.S. government.
  • •The rules say how dark or light the honey can be and how good it must look.
  • •The honey must be labeled correctly to show its color and grade.

Example

You buy honey still in the honeycomb at the store.

The honey must look as good as the label says, like if it says 'light amber,' it can't be dark brown. If it doesn't match, the seller is breaking the rules.
