§ 29557 Hearing Timing Requirements

• •The hearing must happen between 10 and 20 days after the notice is posted.
• •You can't have the hearing too soon or too late—it has to be in that time window.
• •This rule was made in 1967 and hasn’t changed since.

If the city posts a notice about a new rule on June 1st, the hearing to talk about it must be between June 11th and June 21st.

The law says the hearing can’t be before the 10th day or after the 20th day from when the notice was posted. So, if they try to have it on June 5th, that’s too early, and if they wait until June 25th, that’s too late.
