§ 59692 Proration Zone Boundary Changes

Key Takeaways

  • •A group of producers can ask to change the boundaries of a proration zone if they produce at least 10% of the commodity in that area.
  • •They can also ask for the current or a new marketing program to apply to the entire new area.
  • •The director must hold a public hearing to listen to evidence about changing the boundaries and the marketing program.

Example

A group of farmers who grow apples in a specific area want to change the boundaries of their proration zone to include more apple farms.

If these farmers produce at least 10% of the apples in that area, they can ask the director to change the boundaries. The director will then hold a public hearing to decide if the change is good and what marketing rules should apply to the new area.
