§ 59641 Producer Marketing Program Petition

Key Takeaways

  • •If 10 or more farmers grow the same kind of crop, they can ask the government to create a special zone for their crop.
  • •This special zone helps them control how much of the crop they sell together.
  • •They have to ask the director (a government person) to make this happen.

Example

A group of 10 orange farmers want to work together to sell their oranges in a smarter way.

They can ask the government to create a special zone just for their oranges. This helps them decide together how many oranges to sell so they don’t sell too many at once and lose money.
