§ 59660 Proration Zone Boundary Expansion

Key Takeaways

  • •If a public meeting is held to decide the boundaries of a proration zone (an area where certain rules apply to how goods are sold or produced), and it turns out more land needs to be included for the rules to work properly, the meeting must be paused.
  • •The director in charge must notify all the producers (like farmers or manufacturers) in the newly added area before the meeting can continue.
  • •After the producers are notified, the meeting can finish, and the director can make their final decision.

Example

Imagine a group of farmers is meeting to decide the rules for selling milk in their area. They realize that a few nearby farms should also be included in these rules to make things fair and work smoothly.

The meeting must stop so the director can tell the nearby farmers about the new rules. Once those farmers know, the meeting can continue, and the director can make the final rules for everyone.
