§ 45220 Common Board Administration Definitions

Key Takeaways

  • •A 'common board' is a group of the same people who manage more than one school district.
  • •A 'common administration' is when one person is the boss for more than one school district.
  • •If a school district is the only one in the county, it counts as a big district (even if it's small).
  • •If schools share a board or boss, they are treated like big districts.

Example

Two small school districts in the same county share the same school board and the same superintendent.

Even if each school district has fewer than 3,000 students, they are treated like big districts because they share a board and a boss.
