§ 8962 Warrant Renewal Authority

Key Takeaways

  • •The board can renew a warrant (like a check from the government) before it's paid.
  • •The owner of the warrant must ask for the renewal.
  • •The board writes the renewal details on the warrant and tells the State Treasurer and Controller.

Example

You have a check from the government that hasn't been paid yet, but it's about to expire.

You can ask the board to renew the check so you can still use it. They will write the new date on the check and let the right people know.
