§ 8015 City Project Cost Determination

Key Takeaways

  • •The city can decide if a big project is too expensive to pay for with its usual money.
  • •If the project is too expensive, the city might need to find another way to pay for it.
  • •This rule was added a long time ago, in 1943.

Example

The city wants to build a new park with a big playground, but the playground is very expensive.

The city checks its usual money (like taxes) and sees it’s not enough to pay for the playground. So, the city might need to borrow money or find extra funds to build it.
