§ 75781 Land Exclusion Consent Rules

• •If you own land in a special district and don’t say anything when someone asks to remove that land, it means you agree to it.
• •If you sign a petition to remove land from the district, you automatically agree to that land being taken out.
• •Only people who own bonds in the district can object without it counting as agreement.

A group of neighbors wants to remove their block from a local water district because they found a cheaper water source.

If you own a house on that block and don’t write a complaint when they file the petition, the law says you’re okay with leaving the district. If you signed the petition, you definitely agree. But if you own bonds in the district, you can complain without it counting as agreement.
