§ 75617 Groundwater Charge Calculation Methods

Key Takeaways

  • •If a well or water source doesn't have a meter, the board can guess how much water is used.
  • •They can use things like the size of the pipe, how many people use the water, or what the land is used for to make their guess.
  • •The guess should be pretty close to the real amount of water used.

Example

A farm uses a well to water crops, but there's no meter to measure how much water is used.

The board can look at how big the well's pipe is, how many crops are being watered, and how much water those crops usually need to figure out how much water the farm is using.

(c) The number of persons served by the water-producing facility. (d) The use of land served by the water-producing facility. (e) The crops grown on land served by the water-producing facility. (f) Any other criteria which may be used to determine with reasonable accuracy the amount of water produced from a water-producing facility. (Added by Stats. 1965, Ch. 75.)
