§ 305 Uncapped Artesian Well Nuisance

Key Takeaways

  • •If you have a well that shoots water out on its own, you must cover it or use a device to stop the water flow.
  • •If you don’t stop the water, it’s considered a problem for everyone (like a mess in a public place).
  • •This rule is about keeping water from wasting or causing trouble.

Example

You have a well in your yard that sprays water all the time, and you leave it open without a cover or a valve to turn it off.

This is breaking the rule because the water is flowing freely and could flood the area or waste water. You need to cap it or add a device to stop the water.
