§ 50275 Annexation Hearing And Approval

Key Takeaways

  • •The board listens to people who don't want their land added to the district.
  • •If at least two-thirds of the board thinks adding the land is good for it, they can go ahead.
  • •The board then decides the exact borders of the land to be added.

Example

A small town wants to add nearby farmland to their school district.

Farmers can tell the board they don’t want to join. If most of the board (at least two-thirds) thinks the farmland would get better schools by joining, they can decide to add it and set the new borders.
