§ 96753 Annexation Resolution Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •The law says you must clearly describe the land you want to add to a district.
  • •You have to give the new area a name.
  • •You must explain how adding this land will help the district.
  • •There must be a meeting where people can say if they don’t like the plan.

Example

A small town wants to add a nearby neighborhood to its school district.

The town must draw a map of the neighborhood, name it (like 'Sunny Hills'), say how it will help (like better schools), and hold a meeting where people can complain if they don’t want to join.
