§ 40088 Board Voting Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •The board must vote on decisions using a motion, resolution, or ordinance.
  • •A decision only passes if most of the directors vote 'yes'.
  • •District rules must be made the same way counties make their rules.

Example

A school board wants to change the rules about school lunches.

The board members must vote, and if more than half say 'yes', the new lunch rules become official. If not, the rules don’t change.
