§ 29719 Annexation Hearing Continuation

Key Takeaways

  • •The board can delay the hearing as many times as they want, but they have to write down when and where the next meeting will be.
  • •If no one complains or their complaints are ignored, the board can decide to add new land to a special service area without a vote.
  • •The board’s decision to add the land must be written down officially.

Example

Imagine your neighborhood wants to add a new park, but some people don’t like the idea.

If the board keeps having meetings about it and eventually says no to the complaints, they can just decide to add the park without asking everyone to vote.
