§ 28860 Public Employment Dispute Resolution

Key Takeaways

  • •This law doesn't replace other rules about solving work problems between bosses and workers.
  • •If workers or bosses break the rules at work, a special group called the Public Employment Relations Board decides what happens.
  • •The board can't make bosses pay for getting ready for a strike or for money lost during a strike.

Example

If teachers go on strike when they're not allowed to, and the school loses money because of it.

The school can't get money back for things like hiring extra security or losing money while the strike was happening. Only the special board can decide what happens to the teachers or the school.
