§ 17368 Annexation Terms And Conditions

Key Takeaways

  • •The new area joining a district can get stuff like services or property directly from the district.
  • •The joining can depend on the district getting approval from other groups it’s part of.
  • •The new area might have to give up some services or things the district owns.
  • •Other rules from the District Reorganization Act of 1965 can also apply.

Example

A small town wants to join a bigger city to get better water services.

The bigger city can say yes, but only if the town agrees not to use the city’s parks. The town might also have to wait until the city gets permission from the county.
