§ 16878 Sewer System Planning Authority

Key Takeaways

  • •This law helps plan sewer systems for areas that need them, even if those areas are not all in one place.
  • •It allows sewage facilities built by public utility districts to be used as much as possible.
  • •The goal is to make sure sewer systems work well and are not wasted.

Example

A small town has some neighborhoods that need sewers, but they are spread out.

This law lets the town plan a sewer system that covers all those neighborhoods, even if they are not close together. It also means the town can use the sewer facilities they build to their fullest, so nothing goes to waste.
