§ 101300 District Treasurer Definition

This law says who the 'treasurer' is for a district. If the district has its own treasurer, that person is in charge. If not, the county treasurer takes over.

Key Takeaways

  • •If a district picks a treasurer, that person is the 'treasurer' for the district.
  • •If the district doesn't pick one, the county treasurer becomes the 'treasurer' instead.
  • •This just explains who is in charge of the money for the district.

Example

A small town doesn't have its own treasurer to handle money.

Since the town didn't pick a treasurer, the county treasurer will do the job instead.
