§ 1178 District Formation Election Rules

A community wants to start a new fire protection district. After the hearing, the board decides to hold a special election so residents can vote on creating the district and choose the first board members.

The board follows the law by either canceling the district plan or, as in this case, calling a special election for the community to vote and elect the first directors.
