§ 1072 Veteran Home Financial Reports

This law tells the department to put a detailed money report about each state‑run home online by Feb. 1 each year, starting in 2019, and keep it updated every year.

Key Takeaways

  • •The first report had to be posted by Feb. 1, 2019.
  • •The report must list budgeted state funds, actual revenue, and expected future revenue for each home.
  • •It also must break down care costs per resident by level of care, plus current and projected maintenance costs.
  • •The department must update and repost the report every year by Feb. 1.

Example

A family wants to know how much the state is spending and getting back from a state‑run nursing home for their grandma.

The department must have posted a report on its website by Feb. 1 that shows the budgeted state money, the money actually collected, future expected revenue, how much care costs per resident, and both current and future maintenance costs for that nursing home.
