This law lets workers or groups sue their boss if the boss breaks certain rules. If they win, the boss might have to pay their lawyer fees.

Key Takeaways

  • •Workers can sue their boss as a group if the boss isn't following certain work rules.
  • •If they win, the boss may have to pay their lawyer fees.
  • •Even local governments or worker representatives can help bring these cases.

Example

A group of workers at a factory aren't getting paid for overtime, even though the law says they should.

They can team up and sue their boss together. If they win, the boss has to pay them what they're owed and might also have to pay for their lawyer.
