§ 80300 Response Action Compliance Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If the government or a company has to clean up pollution or dangerous stuff, they have to follow special rules to do it safely.
  • •These rules are written in another part of the law (Chapter 6.65) and must be followed unless there’s an exception.
  • •The law started in 2023 but didn’t fully kick in until 2024.

Example

A factory spills toxic chemicals into a river.

The factory can’t just dump stuff anywhere to clean it up—they have to follow strict steps to make sure the river is safe again. If they don’t, they could get in big trouble.
