§ 40540 South Coast Warrant Issuance

Key Takeaways

  • •The south coast district board can decide to start using warrants (a way to pay for things) by passing a resolution.
  • •If they decide to start, it begins on the first day of the second month after they make the decision.
  • •If they think their money tracking system isn't good enough, they can stop using warrants.
  • •If they stop, it happens at the start of the next fiscal year (like a new money year).

Example

Imagine your school decides to start using a new way to pay for field trips.

The school board votes to start this new payment method, and it begins two months later. If they later think the system isn’t working well, they can stop using it at the start of the next school year.
