§ 112795 License Suspension Proceedings

Key Takeaways

  • •If the government wants to take away your license, they have to follow special rules to do it fairly.
  • •The rules they follow are the same ones used for other important decisions, like in court.
  • •The people in charge (the 'department') have the same powers as in those other cases to make sure things are done right.

Example

If you own a restaurant and the health department wants to take away your license because they say your kitchen is dirty.

They can't just take it away right then. They have to follow fair rules, like giving you a chance to show you fixed the problems, just like in a court case.
