§ 102680 New Birth Certificate Supplants Old

• •Only the most recent birth certificate is considered valid.
• •All older birth certificates are replaced and cannot be used.
• •The public can only see the newest certificate, not any previous versions.

A family corrects a typo on their child's birth certificate and gets a new one issued.

Because of this law, the corrected certificate is the only one that can be shown to schools, doctors, or anyone else; the old certificate with the mistake is no longer usable or viewable by the public.
