§ 101200 Local Health Department Funding

This law says that when a local health department meets the requirements for help, it gets money right away from the day it becomes eligible.

Key Takeaways

  • •Eligibility triggers immediate financial aid.
  • •Applies to local health departments that qualify after September 19, 1947.
  • •Aid starts on the exact date the department becomes eligible.
  • •The rule was added in 1995 and took effect on January 1, 1996.

Example

A city health department checks the rules in 2023, finds it now qualifies for state assistance, and files the paperwork.

Because the department is now eligible, the law says it starts receiving the financial aid on the same day it qualified.
