§ 72303 Bail Acceptance And Release

Key Takeaways

  • •The court can decide if bail is okay and let someone go free until their court date.
  • •If bail is accepted, the court will tell the person when and where to come back for their trial.
  • •The court gives the person a paper saying they can go, but they must come back later.

Example

If someone gets arrested for stealing a bike and the court lets them pay bail to go home.

The court will take the bail money, give them a paper saying they can leave, and tell them to come back to court next month. If they don’t show up, they’ll be in big trouble.
