§ 59108 Special Improvement District Definitions

Key Takeaways

  • •An 'improvement' in a special district can mean buying land or rights to use land for public things.
  • •It can also mean building or buying buildings, structures, or public works like roads or parks.
  • •The law says 'improvement' can include any of these things, even if they are combined together.
  • •Any land or public works allowed by law can be part of these improvements.

Example

A town wants to build a new park and also buy some land next to it for a playground.

The law says this is allowed because buying land and building public things like parks are both considered 'improvements'.
