§ 56883 Correcting Clerical Errors

Key Takeaways

  • •Small mistakes in official papers can be fixed before the process is done.
  • •Only certain people can ask for these fixes: the boss, a commission member, or the affected group.
  • •Fixing these mistakes won’t let someone ask for a big review of the decision later.

Example

A city commission writes a rule about building a new park, but there’s a typo in the address.

The boss or a commission member can ask to fix the typo before the rule is final. This fix won’t let someone challenge the whole park decision later.

A correction made pursuant to this section shall not be cause for filing a request pursuant to Section 56895. (Added by Stats. 2000, Ch. 761, Sec. 211. Effective January 1, 2001.)
